| 6 | record of 29 consecutive regular season wins, the Pensacola |
| 7 | State College Lady Pirates forged ahead to win the Florida |
| 8 | Community College Activities Association State Championship, |
| 9 | their first state championship in 26 years, earning the Lady |
| 10 | Pirates their first trip to the National Junior College Athletic |
| 11 | Association National Championship since 1985, and |
| 12 | WHEREAS, under Head Coach Chanda Rigby, 2010-2011 FCCAA |
| 13 | All-Panhandle Conference Women's Basketball Coach of the Year |
| 14 | and FCSAA All-Tournament Women's Basketball Coach of the Year; |
| 15 | Assistant Coaches Kayla Ard and Latoya Thomas; Athletic Director |
| 16 | Bill Hamilton; and President Ed Meadows, the Lady Pirates |
| 17 | completed an amazing season record of 35 wins and only 1 loss, |
| 18 | and |
| 19 | WHEREAS, the Pensacola State College Lady Pirates have |
| 20 | accumulated numerous team and individual honors, including |
| 21 | representing the State of Florida with their participation in |
| 22 | the National Junior College Athletic Association National |
| 23 | Championship with a tournament record of 3 wins and 1 loss, and |
| 24 | WHEREAS, with exceptional coaching comes extraordinary |
| 25 | players as displayed by Lady Pirates team members Brandy Broome, |
| 26 | Meghan Perkins, Jessica Merritt, Ashley Olvera, Natalie Burke, |
| 27 | Tawanna Lee, Najat Ouardad, Patricia Bright, Darnisha Hamilton, |
| 28 | Jenisha Jackson, and Karneshia Garrett, whose outstanding |
| 29 | athletic teamwork exemplifies superior sportsmanship, and |
| 30 | WHEREAS, the Lady Pirates individual and team |
| 31 | accomplishments are vast and include awards to Jessica Merritt, |
| 32 | All-American and All-State Player and All-Panhandle Conference |
| 33 | and Florida State Tournament Most Valuable Player; Meghan |
| 34 | Perkins, All-American and All-State Player and Florida State |
| 35 | College Athletic Association Player of the Year; and an All- |
| 36 | Panhandle Conference Team comprised of Lady Pirates players |
