5 Section 1. Paragraph (a) of subsection (1) of section
6 101.6102, Florida Statutes, is amended to read:
7 101.6102 Mail ballot elections; limitations.—
8 (1)(a) An election may be conducted by mail ballot if:
9 1. The election is a referendum election at which all or a
10 portion of the qualified electors of one of the following
11 subdivisions of government are the only electors eligible to
12 vote:
13 a. Counties;
14 b. Cities;
15 c. School districts covering no more than one county; or
16 d. Special districts;
17 2. The election is for a person seeking membership on the
18 board of supervisors of a community development district;
19 3.2. The governing body responsible for calling the
20 election and the supervisor of elections responsible for the
21 conduct of the election authorize the use of mail ballots for
22 the election; and
23 4.3. The Secretary of State approves a written plan for the
24 conduct of the election, which shall include a written timetable
25 for the conduct of the election, submitted by the supervisor of
26 elections.
