       The Committee on Community Affairs (Bennett) recommended the
       following:
       
    1         Senate Amendment (with title amendment)
    2  
    3         Between lines 564 and 565
    4  insert:
    5  Section 11. Subsection (48) is added to section 420.507, Florida
    6  Statutes, to read:
    7         (48) Florida Housing may utilize up to 10 percent of its
    8  annual allocation of low income housing tax credits, allocation
    9  of non-taxable revenue bonds, and State Apartment Incentive Loan
   10  funds appropriated by the legislature and available to allocate
   11  by request for proposals or other competitive solicitation
   12  funding for high priority affordable housing projects, such as
   13  housing to support economic development and job creation
   14  initiatives, housing for veterans and their families, and other
   15  special needs populations in communities throughout the state as
   16  determined by the corporation on an annual basis.

   19         And the title is amended as follows:
   20         Delete lines 38 - 39
   21  and insert:
   22         purposes of clarifying various provisions; authorizing
   23         Florida Housing Finance Corporation to set aside a
   24         portion of its federal and state funding to fund
   25         housing for economic development initiatives,
   26         veteran's housing and housing for other special needs
   27         populations, authorizing the use of competitive
   28         requests for proposal to fund projects; providing an
   29         effective date.
