       The Committee on Budget Subcommittee on Transportation, Tourism,
       and Economic Development Appropriations (Bennett) recommended
       the following:
       
    1         Senate Amendment (with title amendment)

    3         Between lines 170 and 171
    4  insert:
    5         Section 2. Subsection (42) of section 320.01, Florida
    6  Statutes, is amended to read:
    7         320.01 Definitions, general.—As used in the Florida
    8  Statutes, except as otherwise provided, the term:
    9         (42) “Low-speed vehicle” means any four-wheeled electric
   10  vehicle whose top speed is greater than 20 miles per hour but
   11  not greater than 25 miles per hour, including, without
   12  limitation, neighborhood electric vehicles. Low-speed vehicles
   13  must comply with the safety standards in 49 C.F.R. s. 571.500
   14  and s. 316.2122.

   17         And the title is amended as follows:
   18         Delete line 6
   19  and insert:
   20         providing for a fee; amending s. 320.01, F.S.;
   21         redefining the term “low-speed vehicle”; providing an
   22         effective date.
