       Senator Detert moved the following:
       
    1         Senate Amendment (with title amendment)
    2  
    3         Delete lines 127 - 129
    4  and insert:
    5         Section 4. Paragraph (q) is added to subsection (9) of
    6  section 1002.33, Florida Statutes, and paragraph (b) of
    7  subsection (16) of that section is amended to read:
    8         1002.33 Charter schools.—
    9         (9) CHARTER SCHOOL REQUIREMENTS.—
   10         (q) A charter school operator may not be a foreign national
   11  principal as defined in 22 U.S.C. s. 611(b), have officers or
   12  partners who are not citizens of the United States and who are
   13  not lawfully admitted for permanent residence as defined in 8
   14  U.S.C. s. 1101(a)(20), or be registered in a foreign country.
