Florida Senate - 2012 (NP) SR 2102 By Senator Fasano 11-02694-12 20122102__ 1 Senate Resolution 2 A resolution commending the Florida Association for 3 Behavior Analysis on its 32nd Anniversary and 4 recognizing the week of September 3-7, 2012, as 5 “Florida Behavior Analysis Week” in Florida. 6 7 WHEREAS, the Florida Association for Behavior Analysis is 8 the nation’s largest statewide organization committed to the 9 promotion and support of behavior analysis, and 10 WHEREAS, for the past 32 years, the Florida Association for 11 Behavior Analysis has promoted the ethical, humane, and 12 effective application of behavior principles in all aspects of 13 society, including education, business, rehabilitation 14 facilities, and government, and 15 WHEREAS, behavior analysis is a science-based, cost 16 effective approach for training teachers, parents, and 17 caregivers to prevent and solve serious behavior problems, and 18 WHEREAS, behavior analysis has demonstrated its 19 effectiveness for many applications, including the treatment of 20 autistic individuals, teaching basic self-help skills and 21 language to persons with developmental disabilities, and helping 22 foster parents to lovingly raise emotionally difficult children, 23 and 24 WHEREAS, behavior analysts who are members of the Florida 25 Association for Behavior Analysis have diverse backgrounds, 26 including consulting firms, state government programs, private 27 therapy practices, and school administrations, and 28 WHEREAS, the Florida Association for Behavior Analysis 29 holds an annual conference each fall as a forum for exchanging 30 ideas and data-based research relating to behavior analysis, 31 behavior therapy, performance management, and behavior 32 management programming, NOW, THEREFORE, 33 34 Be It Resolved by the Senate of the State of Florida: 35 36 That the Florida Association for Behavior Analysis is 37 recognized for its 32 years of contributions to the field of 38 behavior analysis and that the week of September 3-7, 2012, is 39 recognized as “Florida Behavior Analysis Week” in Florida. 40 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this resolution, with 41 the Seal of the Senate affixed, be presented to the Florida 42 Association for Behavior Analysis as a tangible token of the 43 sentiments of the Florida Senate.
