Appropriations (Ring) recommended the following:

3 Delete lines 55 - 62
4 and insert:
5 3. Adopt bylaws or policies that require a youth athlete
6 who is suspected of sustaining a concussion or head injury in a
7 practice, game, or competition to be immediately removed from
8 the activity. A youth athlete who has been removed from a
9 practice, game, or competition may not return to that practice,
10 game, or competition in which he or she is suspected of
11 sustaining the concussion or head injury. A youth athlete who
12 has been removed due to the suspected concussion or head injury
13 may not return to any subsequent practices, games, or
14 competitions until the youth receives written clearance to
15 return from a physician, licensed under chapter 458 or chapter
16 459, who has received neurological training. Before issuing a
17 written clearance to return to practice or competition, a
18 physician may:

21 And the title is amended as follows:
22 Delete lines 11 - 13
23 and insert:
24 activity following a suspected head injury;
25 prohibiting a youth athlete from returning to the
26 athletic activity in which he or she sustained the
27 suspected head injury; requiring written clearance
28 from a medical professional before the youth resumes
29 any subsequent athletic activities; authorizing a
