    1                       Senate Joint Resolution                     
    2         A joint resolution rescinding and withdrawing House
    3         Joint Resolution 381 (2011), which relates to ad
    4         valorem taxation, contingent upon adoption of a joint
    5         resolution proposing alternative amendments to the
    6         State Constitution.

    8  Be It Resolved by the Legislature of the State of Florida:
    9  
   10         That House Joint Resolution 381, adopted in the 2011
   11  Regular Session and entitled “A joint resolution proposing
   12  amendments to Sections 4 and 6 of Article VII and Section 27 of
   13  Article XII and the creation of Sections 32 and 33 of Article
   14  XII of the State Constitution to allow the Legislature by
   15  general law to prohibit increases in the assessed value of
   16  homestead and specified nonhomestead property if the just value
   17  of the property decreases, reduce the limitation on annual
   18  assessment increases applicable to nonhomestead real property,
   19  provide an additional homestead exemption for owners of
   20  homestead property who have not owned homestead property for a
   21  specified time before purchase of the current homestead
   22  property, and application and limitations with respect thereto,
   23  delay the future repeal of provisions limiting annual assessment
   24  increases for specified nonhomestead real property, and provide
   25  effective dates,” is rescinded and withdrawn.
   26         BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the proposed amendments to
   27  Sections 4 and 6 of Article VII and Section 27 of Article XII
   28  and the creation of Sections 32 and 33 of Article XII of the
   29  State Constitution not be submitted to the electors of this
   30  state for approval or rejection at the 2012 presidential
   31  preference primary or the 2012 general election and the
   32  Secretary of State shall withhold House Joint Resolution 381
   33  (2011) from the ballot.
   34         BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this joint resolution shall
   35  take effect only if Senate Joint Resolution 314 or similar
   36  legislation is adopted by the Legislature.
