       The Committee on Judiciary (Braynon) recommended the following:
       
    1         Senate Amendment 
    2  
    3         Delete lines 203 - 217
    4  and insert:
    5  
    6  the like offense committed after the former conviction, and on
    7  whoever is at the same term of the court convicted upon three
    8  distinct charges of such offense committed within a 6-month
    9  period, shall be deemed a common utterer of counterfeit bills,
   10  and shall be punished as provided in s. 775.084.
   11         Section 15. Section 831.17, Florida Statutes, is amended to
   12  read:
   13         831.17 Violation of s. 831.16; second or subsequent
   14  conviction.—A person previously Whoever having been convicted of
   15  violating either of the offenses mentioned in s. 831.16 who, is
   16  again convicted of violating that statute either of the same
   17  offenses, committed after the former conviction on, and whoever
   18  is at the same term of the court convicted upon three distinct
   19  charges of such offense committed within a 6-month period said
   20  offenses, commits a felony of the second degree, punishable as
   21  provided in s. 775.082, s. 775.083, or s. 775.084.
