       Senator Bennett moved the following:
       
    1         Senate Amendment (with title amendment)
    2  
    3         Between lines 132 and 133
    4  insert:
    5         Section 2. Section 255.0518, Florida Statutes, is created
    6  to read:
    7         255.0518 Public bids; bid opening.—Notwithstanding s.
    8  119.071(1)(b), a county or municipality, a department or agency
    9  of the state, a county, or a municipality, or any other public
   10  body or institution must:
   11         (1) Open a sealed bid or the portion of a sealed bid that
   12  includes the price submitted, which is received pursuant to a
   13  competitive solicitation for construction or repairs on a public
   14  building or public work, at a public meeting conducted in
   15  compliance with s. 286.011.
   16         (2) Announce at that meeting the name of each bidder and
   17  the price submitted in the bid.
   18         (3) Make available upon request the name of each bidder and
   19  the price submitted in the bid.
