       Senator Altman moved the following:
       
    1         Senate Amendment (with title amendment)
    2  
    3         Between lines 956 and 957
    4  insert:
    5         Section 14. The Florida Institute of Technology shall
    6  develop, in conjunction with Space Florida, a plan for
    7  establishing a space exploration research institute. Within 1
    8  year after the Department of Economic Opportunity notifies the
    9  Department of Revenue that it has approved such plan, the
   10  Department of Revenue shall distribute $416,666 monthly to the
   11  Florida Institute of Technology for the purpose of operating the
   12  space exploration research institute. Such funds represent sales
   13  and use taxes generated by visitor activity at the Cape
   14  Canaveral Air Force Station and the John F. Kennedy Space
   15  Center.

   18         And the title is amended as follows:
   19         Between lines 58 and 59
   20  insert:
   21         requiring that the Florida Institute of Technology, in
   22         conjunction with Space Florida, develop a plan for
   23         establishing a space exploration research institute;
   24         requiring that the Department of Revenue distribute a
   25         specified amount of funds to the Florida Institute of
   26         Technology for the purpose of operating the space
   27         exploration research institute;
