Paragraph (d) is added to subsection (2) of 7 section 316.006, Florida Statutes, to read: 8 316.006 Jurisdiction.—Jurisdiction to control traffic is 9 vested as follows: 10 (2) MUNICIPALITIES.— 11 (d) Notwithstanding any other provision of law to the 12 contrary, at the request of a municipality with a population 13 density of at least 10,000 persons per square mile, the 14 Department of Transportation shall, by interlocal agreement, 15 transfer traffic regulatory authority over state roads within 16 the municipality to the municipality. Traffic regulatory 17 authority includes, but is not limited to, street design, street 18 cleaning, landscaping, maintenance, and speed regulation and 19 controls. This paragraph does not apply to any agency or 20 authority created by chapter 348. 21 22 This subsection shall not limit those counties which have the 23 charter powers to provide and regulate arterial, toll, and other 24 roads, bridges, tunnels, and related facilities from the proper 25 exercise of those powers by the placement and maintenance of 26 traffic control devices which conform to the manual and 27 specifications of the Department of Transportation on streets 28 and highways located within municipal boundaries. 29 30 ================= T I T L E A M E N D M E N T ================ 31 And the title is amended as follows: 32 Delete line 3004 33 and insert: 34 section; amending s. 316.006, F.S.; requiring the 35 department to transfer traffic regulatory authority by 36 interlocal agreement to certain municipalities upon 37 request; providing applicability; repealing s. 38 316.530(3), F.S., relating to
