Senator Garcia moved the following:

3 Between lines 103 and 104
4 insert:
5 Section 2. Subsection (3) of section 466.006, Florida
6 Statutes, is amended to read:
7 466.006 Examination of dentists.—
8 (3) If an applicant is a graduate of a dental college or
9 school not accredited in accordance with paragraph (2)(b) or of
10 a dental college or school not approved by the board, the
11 applicant is not entitled to take the examinations required in
12 this section to practice dentistry unless the applicant until
13 she or he satisfies one of the following requirements:
14 (a) Completes a program of study, as defined by the board
15 by rule, at an accredited American dental school and
16 demonstrates receipt of a D.D.S. or D.M.D. from that said
17 school; or
18 (b) Submits proof of having successfully completed at least
19 2 consecutive academic years in at a full-time supplemental
20 general dentistry program taught at an institution accredited by
21 the American Dental Association Commission on Dental
22 Accreditation. This program must provide didactic and clinical
23 education at the level of a D.D.S. or D.M.D. program accredited
24 by the American Dental Association Commission on Dental
25 Accreditation. For purposes of this paragraph, a supplemental
26 general dentistry program does not include dental specialty
27 programs. A supplemental general dentistry program may include a
28 2-year advanced education in general dentistry program or a 2
29 year general practice residency program if the program is
30 specifically designed as a supplemental general dentistry
31 program that provides didactic and clinical education at the
32 level of a D.D.S. or D.M.D. program; or
33 (c)1. Was enrolled on March 23, 2012, in a dental specialty
34 program recognized by the American Dental Association,
35 maintained continuous enrollment until successfully completing
36 the program, and meets the following requirements:
37 a. Completes a full-time matriculated specialty training
38 program accredited by the Commission on Dental Accreditation in
39 a specialty area recognized by the American Dental Association;
40 and
41 b. Presents to the board official transcripts that verify
42 completion of all didactic and clinical requirements and an
43 official certificate from the sponsoring institution indicating
44 successful completion of the program.
45 2. All eligible applicants for licensure under this
46 paragraph must be licensed on or before January 15, 2015.
47 3. This paragraph expires January 15, 2015.

54 458.3137, F.S.; providing that a physician who has
55 been invited by certain medical or surgical training
56 programs or educational symposiums may be issued a
57 temporary certificate for limited privileges solely to
58 provide educational training; modifying criteria;
59 revising the requirements for proof of medical
60 malpractice insurance; amending s. 466.006, F.S.;
61 revising the eligibility requirements for taking
62 examinations required to practice dentistry;
63 authorizing applicants enrolled in a recognized dental
64 specialty program on a specified date to take the
65 examinations if specified conditions are met;
66 providing for future expiration of such authorization;
