    1                        A bill to be entitled                      
    2         An act relating to municipal governing body meetings;
    3         amending s. 166.0213, F.S.; authorizing the governing
    4         bodies of municipalities to hold meetings within
    5         specified boundaries; providing an effective date.

    7  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:
    8  
    9         Section 1. Section 166.0213, Florida Statutes, is amended
   10  to read:
   11         166.0213 Governing body meetings.—The governing body of a
   12  municipality having a population of 500 or fewer residents may
   13  hold meetings:
   14         (a) Within within 5 miles of the exterior jurisdictional
   15  boundary of the municipality at such time and place as may be
   16  prescribed by ordinance or resolution; or.
   17         (b) At the county seat with the governing body of the
   18  county within which the municipality is located, at such time
   19  and place as may be prescribed by ordinance or resolution, to
   20  receive, discuss, and act upon matters of mutual interest.
   21         Section 2. This act shall take effect July 1, 2013.
