The Committee on Community Affairs (Simpson) recommended the
following:
1 Senate Amendment (with directory and title amendments)

3 Between lines 1694 and 1695
4 insert:
5 (15)(a) For one-story or two-story structures that are less
6 than 10,000 square feet, whose occupancy is defined in the
7 Florida Building Code and the Florida Fire Prevention Code as
8 business or mercantile, a fire official shall enforce the wall
9 fire-rating provisions for occupancy separation as defined in
10 the Florida Building Code.
11 (b) A farming or ranching structure, as part of an
12 operation that employs fewer than 25 full-time equivalent
13 workers, calculated as cumulative hours worked divided by 40
14 hours, which is not used by the public for direct sales or as an
15 educational outreach facility, is exempt from the Florida Fire
16 Prevention Code, including the national codes and Life Safety
17 Code incorporated by reference. This paragraph does not include
18 structures used for residential or assembly occupancies, as
19 defined in the Florida Fire Prevention Code.

22 And the directory clause is amended as follows:
23 Delete lines 1561 - 1562
24 and insert:
25 subsections (2), (4), (7), (9), (10), and (12) through (15)
26 of that section are amended, and a new subsection (15) is added
27 to that section, to read:
