Section: 04              EXPLANATION:

On Page: 107             This amendment designates the maximum number of 
                         inmates which may be housed in contracted work 
Spec App:  662           release facilities.  Also, it sets requirements for 
                         inmate transportation and requires at least one 
                         certified correctional officer on the premises at 
                         all times.

At the end of existing proviso language, following Specific 
Appropriation 662, INSERT:

From the funds in Specific Appropriation 662, no privately operated work 
release center may house more than 200 inmates at any given time and no 
transportation shall be provided to inmates unless it is provided by the 
contractor and paid for by the inmate or group of inmates requiring 
transportation.  In addition, each facility must have at least one 
certified correctional officer on premises at all times.
