    1                        A bill to be entitled                      
    2         An act relating to highway safety; prohibiting
    3         stopping a bus in a manner that impedes traffic while
    4         the bus is loading or unloading passengers; providing
    5         an exception; providing an effective date.

    7  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:
    8  
    9         Section 1. Notwithstanding any other law to the contrary, a
   10  bus, other than a school bus, may not be stopped in such a
   11  manner so as to impede, block, or otherwise restrict the
   12  progression of traffic on the main traveled portion of a roadway
   13  while the bus is loading or discharging passengers if another
   14  reasonable means is available to safely load or discharge
   15  passengers.
   16         Section 2. This act shall take effect July 1, 2013.
