       Appropriations Subcommittee on Health and Human Services
       (Richter) recommended the following:
       
    1         Senate Amendment (with title amendment)
    2  
    3         Between lines 49 and 50
    4  insert:
    5         Section 1. Subsection (2) of section 456.44, Florida
    6  Statutes, is amended to read:
    7         456.44 Controlled substance prescribing.—
    8         (2) REGISTRATION.—Effective January 1, 2012, a physician
    9  licensed under chapter 458, chapter 459, chapter 461, chapter
   10  463, or chapter 466 who prescribes any controlled substance,
   11  listed in Schedule II, Schedule III, or Schedule IV as defined
   12  in s. 893.03, for the treatment of chronic nonmalignant pain,
   13  must:
   14         (a) Designate himself or herself as a controlled substance
   15  prescribing practitioner on the physician’s practitioner
   16  profile.
   17         (b) Comply with the requirements of this section and
   18  applicable board rules.
