       The Committee on Commerce and Tourism (Hays) recommended the
       following:
       
    1         Senate Amendment (with title amendment)
    2  
    3         Delete lines 60 - 73
    4  and insert:
    5         (7) AUTOMATIC EXPIRATION ON RETIREMENT OF BONDS.—Anything
    6  in this section to the contrary Notwithstanding any other
    7  provision of this section, if the plan for tourist development
    8  approved by the governing board of the county, as amended from
    9  time to time pursuant to paragraph (4)(d), includes the
   10  acquisition, construction, extension, enlargement, remodeling,
   11  repair, or improvement of a publicly owned and operated
   12  convention center, sports stadium, sports arena, coliseum, or
   13  auditorium, or museum or aquarium, or museum that is publicly
   14  owned and operated or owned and operated by a not-for-profit
   15  organization, the county ordinance levying and imposing the tax
   16  shall automatically expires expire upon the later of:
   17         (a) The retirement of all bonds issued by the county for
   18  financing the acquisition, construction, extension, enlargement,
   19  remodeling, repair, or improvement of a publicly owned and
   20  operated convention center, sports stadium, sports arena,
   21  coliseum, or auditorium, or museum or aquarium that is publicly
   22  owned and operated or owned and operated by a not-for-profit
   23  organization the same; or

   28  and insert:
