House . . . . . ————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————— ————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————— Senator Clemens moved the following: 1 Senate Amendment (with title amendment) 2 3 Delete lines 79 - 87 4 and insert: 5 (4)(a) Any court, arbitration, tribunal, or administrative 6 agency ruling or decision violates the public policy of this 7 state and is void and unenforceable if the court, arbitrator, 8 tribunal, or administrative agency bases its ruling or decision 9 in the matter at issue in whole or in part on any foreign law, 10 legal code, or system that does not grant the parties affected 11 by the ruling or decision the same fundamental liberties, 12 rights, and privileges guaranteed by the State Constitution or 13 the United States Constitution. 14 (b) If a judge bases a decision or ruling in a matter at 15 issue before the court on any foreign law, legal code, or 16 system, the judge shall report such decision or ruling and the 17 basis therefor to The Florida Bar.
