       The Committee on Health Policy (Bean) recommended the following:
       
    1         Senate Amendment (with title amendment)
    2  
    3         Between lines 64 and 65
    4  insert:
    5         Section 3. Notwithstanding s. 430.707, Florida Statutes,
    6  and subject to federal approval of the application to be a site
    7  for the Program of All-inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE),
    8  the Agency for Health Care Administration shall contract with
    9  one not-for-profit organization that has more than 30 years’
   10  experience as a licensed hospice and is currently a licensed
   11  hospice serving individuals and families in Hernando and Pasco
   12  Counties. This not-for-profit organization shall provide PACE
   13  services to frail elders who reside in Hernando and Pasco
   14  Counties. The organization shall be exempt from the requirements
   15  of chapter 641, Florida Statutes. The agency, in consultation
   16  with the Department of Elderly Affairs and subject to an
   17  appropriation, shall approve up to 150 initial enrollees in the
   18  Program of All-inclusive Care for the Elderly established by
   19  this organization to serve frail elders who reside in Hernando
   20  and Pasco Counties.

   23         And the title is amended as follows:
   24         Delete line 22
   25  and insert:
   26         counties; authorizing the Agency for Health Care
   27         Administration to contract with certain organizations
   28         to provide services under the federal Program of All
   29         inclusive Care for the Elderly in Hernando and Pasco
   30         Counties; providing an exemption from ch. 641, F.S.,
   31         for the organizations; authorizing, subject to
   32         appropriation, enrollment slots for the program in
   33         such counties; providing an effective date.
