Subsection (15) is added to section 626.621, 6 Florida Statutes, to read: 7 626.621 Grounds for discretionary refusal, suspension, or 8 revocation of agent’s, adjuster’s, customer representative’s, 9 service representative’s, or managing general agent’s license or 10 appointment.—The department may, in its discretion, deny an 11 application for, suspend, revoke, or refuse to renew or continue 12 the license or appointment of any applicant, agent, adjuster, 13 customer representative, service representative, or managing 14 general agent, and it may suspend or revoke the eligibility to 15 hold a license or appointment of any such person, if it finds 16 that as to the applicant, licensee, or appointee any one or more 17 of the following applicable grounds exist under circumstances 18 for which such denial, suspension, revocation, or refusal is not 19 mandatory under s. 626.611: 20 (15) Directly or indirectly accepting any compensation, 21 inducement, or reward from an inspector for the referral of the 22 owner of the inspected property to the inspector or inspection 23 company. This prohibition applies to an inspection intended for 24 submission to a carrier in order to obtain insurance coverage or 25 establish the applicable insurance premium. 26 27 ================= T I T L E A M E N D M E N T ================ 28 And the title is amended as follows: 29 Between lines 2 and 3 30 insert: 31 626.621, F.S.; providing additional grounds for 32 refusing, suspending, or revoking a license or 33 appointment of an insurance agent, adjuster, customer 34 representative, or managing general agent based on the 35 acceptance of payment for certain referrals; amending 36 s.
