       The Committee on Criminal Justice (Clemens) recommended the
       following:

    3         Delete everything after the enacting clause
    4  and insert:

    6         ================= T I T L E  A M E N D M E N T ================And the title is amended as follows:Delete everything before the enacting clauseand insert:A bill to be entitledAn act relating to sentencing; amending s. 893.135, F.S.; providing an exception to certain sentencing prohibitions; authorizing a person incarcerated for a specified violation on or before a specified date to petition the court for resentencing; deleting a provision prohibiting a person sentenced to a mandatory minimum term of imprisonment from certain eligibility; creating s. 893.22, F.S.; requiring a court to impose the mandatory minimum sentence for certain offenses committed on or after a specified date; providing an exception; requiring a court to provide certain written documentation under certain circumstances; requiring a court to submit a monthly report to the Office of Economic and Demographic Research specifying certain information; providing an effective date.
