    2         A memorial to the Congress of the United States and
    3         the President of the United States, urging them to
    4         pass and enact new economic sanctions against Iran
    5         should that nation be found to be in violation of the
    6         Joint Plan of Action or fail to reach an acceptable
    7         agreement by the dates set forth in the November 2014
    8         extension of the Joint Plan of Action.
    9  
   10         WHEREAS, Iran has installed 19,000 centrifuges, and
   11         WHEREAS, Iran continues to research and develop advanced
   12  centrifuges and has not cooperated with the International Atomic
   13  Energy Agency’s investigation into the possible military
   14  dimensions of its nuclear program, and
   15         WHEREAS, a nuclear-armed Iran poses a significant threat to
   16  the United States and international security, and
   17         WHEREAS, the P5+1 has agreed to two extensions of the Joint
   18  Plan of Action and Iran has not publicly agreed to any
   19  significant concessions, and
   20         WHEREAS, the United States must make clear that new
   21  economic sanctions will be enacted if Iran does not timely enter
   22  into a nuclear agreement, NOW, THEREFORE,

   24  Be It Resolved by the Legislature of the State of Florida:
   25  
   26         That the Congress of the United States and the President of
   27  the United States are urged to pass and enact new economic
   28  sanctions against Iran should that nation be found to be in
   29  violation of the Joint Plan of Action or fail to reach an
   30  acceptable agreement by the dates set forth in the November 2014
   31  extension of the Joint Plan of Action.
   32         BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that copies of this memorial be
   33  dispatched to the President of the United States, the President
   34  of the United States Senate, the Speaker of the United States
   35  House of Representatives, and each member of the Florida
   36  delegation to the United States Congress.
