    1                        A bill to be entitled                      
    2         An act relating to mental health education; requiring
    3         the Department of Education to provide public school
    4         districts with information to maximize grants for
    5         mental health education, awareness, and training;
    6         requiring the department to post such information on
    7         its website and to provide annual electronic
    8         notification of such grants to school districts;
    9         providing an effective date.

   11  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:
   12  
   13         Section 1. The Department of Education shall provide each
   14  public school district with comprehensive information to
   15  maximize federal and private grants for mental health education,
   16  awareness, and training, or similar programs no later than
   17  September 30, 2015, and annually thereafter. The Department of
   18  Education shall post this information on the front page of its
   19  website and provide annual notification of available grants to
   20  school districts electronically. The department shall be
   21  available for further assistance upon request. School districts
   22  are encouraged to do research and apply for these grants to
   23  enhance and improve the well-being of students throughout
   24  Florida’s public education system.
   25         Section 2. This act shall take effect July 1, 2015.
