Floor: 2/AD/2R . 03/24/2015 11:51 AM . ————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————— ————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————— Senator Bradley moved the following: 1 Senate Amendment (with title amendment) 2 3 Delete lines 216 - 227 4 and insert: 5 (4) FLORIDA CORRECTIONS COMMISSION.—The Florida Corrections 6 Commission is created. The primary focus of the commission shall 7 be on matters relating to corrections with an emphasis on the 8 safe and effective operations of major correctional 9 institutions. However, in instances in which the policies of 10 other components of the criminal justice system affect 11 corrections, the commission shall advise and make 12 recommendations. The Justice Administrative Commission shall 13 provide administrative support and service to the Florida 14 Corrections Commission to the extent requested by the Florida 15 Corrections Commission. The Florida Corrections Commission shall 16 not be subject to the control, supervision, or direction by 17 the Justice Administrative Commission in the performance of its 18 duties, but the employees of the Florida Corrections Commission 19 shall be governed by the classification plan and salary and 20 benefits plan approved by the Justice Administrative Commission. 21 22 23 ================= T I T L E A M E N D M E N T ================ 24 And the title is amended as follows: 25 Delete line 6 26 and insert: 27 Administrative Commission; specifying that the 28 Corrections Commission shall not be subject to the 29 control or direction of the Justice Administration 30 Commission but the employees shall be governed by the 31 classification plan and salary and benefits plan 32 approved by the Justice Administration Commission; 33 providing for membership
