       Senator Sachs moved the following:
       
    1         Senate Amendment (with title amendment)
    2  
    3         Between lines 889 and 890
    4  insert:
    5         Section 5. The University of Florida, in consultation with
    6  a veterinary research organization, may conduct research to
    7  determine the benefits and contraindications of the use of low
    8  THC cannabis and low-THC cannabis products for treatment of
    9  animals with seizure disorders or other life-limiting illnesses.
   10  State funds may not be used for such research.

   13  And the title is amended as follows:
   14         Delete line 134
   15  and insert:
   16         Florida; authorizing the University of Florida, in
   17         consultation with a veterinary research organization,
   18         to conduct specified research; prohibiting the use of
   19         state funds for such research; providing an effective
   20         date.
