Floor: WD/2R . 04/02/2015 02:49 PM . ————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————— ————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————— Senators Lee and Gaetz moved the following: 1 Senate Amendment to Amendment (211438) (with directory and 2 title amendments) 3 4 Between lines 624 and 625 5 insert: 6 (11) EXEMPTION.—Notwithstanding any other provision of law, 7 students who take and pass Advanced Placement, International 8 Baccalaureate, Advanced International Certificate of Education, 9 or national industry certification examinations or other 10 articulated acceleration mechanisms authorized under s. 1007.27, 11 or who achieve required cut scores on ACT or SAT examinations, 12 are exempt from taking statewide, standardized assessments in 13 the subject areas covered by those examinations. The 14 Commissioner of Education shall, by the first day of school of 15 the 2015-2016 school year, establish concordant scores or 16 comparative scores, as appropriate, relating to passage of those 17 examinations relative to the associated statewide assessment and 18 use those scores to satisfy high school graduation requirements 19 pursuant to s. 1003.4282. 20 21 ====== D I R E C T O R Y C L A U S E A M E N D M E N T ====== 22 And the directory clause is amended as follows: 23 Delete lines 135 - 137 24 and insert: 25 1008.22, Florida Statutes are amended, present subsections (7), 26 (8), and (9) are redesignated as subsections (8), (9), and (10), 27 respectively, new subsections (7) and (11) are added to that 28 section, and present subsections (10) and (11) are redesignated 29 as subsections (12) and (13), respectively, 30 31 ================= T I T L E A M E N D M E N T ================ 32 And the title is amended as follows: 33 Delete line 1638 34 and insert: 35 regarding the training of such employees; providing 36 that students who meet certain criteria are exempt 37 from certain statewide, standardized assessments; 38 requiring the Commissioner of Education to establish 39 concordant or comparative scores by a specified date; 40 amending s.
