    1                        A bill to be entitled                      
    2         An act relating to county officials; amending s.
    3         145.19, F.S.; prohibiting a county official’s adjusted
    4         salary rate for a specified period from being less
    5         than that for the fiscal year immediately preceding
    6         the county’s shift to a new population group under
    7         certain circumstances; providing an effective date.
    8          
    9  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:
   10  
   11         Section 1. Subsection (3) is added to section 145.19,
   12  Florida Statutes, to read:
   13         145.19 Annual percentage increases based on increase for
   14  state career service employees; limitation.—
   15         (3) Notwithstanding subsection (2), s. 1001.395, s.
   16  1001.47, or any other provision of this chapter to the contrary,
   17  if a county’s population increases and results in that county
   18  shifting to a new population group based on population reported
   19  on or after April 1, 2014, pursuant to s. 186.901, a county
   20  official’s adjusted salary rate for the next 4 fiscal years may
   21  not be less than the official’s adjusted salary rate for the
   22  fiscal year immediately preceding the county’s shift to a new
   23  population group.
   24         Section 2. This act shall take effect July 1, 2015.
