    1                        A bill to be entitled                      
    2         An act relating to coverage for colorectal cancer
    3         screenings; creating s. 627.64192, F.S.; requiring
    4         coverage for annual colorectal cancer screenings under
    5         an accident or health insurance policy for certain
    6         insureds; amending s. 641.31, F.S.; requiring a health
    7         maintenance organization or prepaid health plan to
    8         provide such coverage for certain subscribers;
    9         providing applicability; providing an effective date.

   11  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:
   12  
   13         Section 1. Section 627.64192, Florida Statutes, is created
   14  to read:
   15         627.64192 Coverage for colorectal cancer screenings.—An
   16  accident or health insurance policy issued, amended, delivered,
   17  or renewed in this state must provide coverage for annual
   18  colorectal cancer screenings for any insured who is 50 years of
   19  age or older.
   20         Section 2. Subsection (44) is added to section 641.31,
   21  Florida Statutes, to read:
   22         641.31 Health maintenance contracts.—
   23         (44) A health maintenance organization or prepaid health
   24  plan must provide coverage for annual colorectal cancer
   25  screenings for any subscriber who is 50 years of age or older.
   26         Section 3. This act applies to all accident or health
   27  insurance policies and health maintenance contracts created or
   28  renewed on or after the effective date of this act.
   29         Section 4. This act shall take effect October 1, 2016.
