       Senator Brandes moved the following:
       
    1         Senate Amendment (with title amendment)
    2  
    3         Between lines 579 and 580
    4  insert:
    5         Section 12. Section 320.0843, Florida Statutes, is amended
    6  to read:
    7         320.0843 License plates for persons with disabilities
    8  eligible for permanent disabled parking permits.—
    9         (1) Any owner or lessee of a motor vehicle who resides in
   10  this state and qualifies for a disabled parking permit under s.
   11  320.0848(2), upon application to the department and payment of
   12  the license tax for a motor vehicle registered under s.
   13  320.08(2), (3)(a), (b), (c), or (e), (4)(a) or (b), (6)(a), or
   14  (9)(c) or (d), shall be issued a license plate as provided by s.
   15  320.06 which, in lieu of the serial number prescribed by s.
   16  320.06, shall be stamped with the international wheelchair user
   17  symbol after the serial number of the license plate. The license
   18  plate entitles the person to all privileges afforded by a
   19  parking permit issued under s. 320.0848. When more than one
   20  registrant is listed on the registration issued under this
   21  section, the eligible applicant shall be noted on the
   22  registration certificate.
   23         (2) An owner or lessee of a motor vehicle who resides in
   24  this state and qualifies for a license plate under s. 320.0842
   25  and a Purple Heart license plate under s. 320.089, upon
   26  application to the department, shall be issued a license plate
   27  stamped with the term “Combat-wounded Veteran” followed by the
   28  serial number of the license plate and the international symbol
   29  of accessibility. The license plate entitles the person to all
   30  privileges afforded by a license plate issued under s. 320.0842.
   31  When more than one registrant is listed on the registration
   32  issued under this section, the eligible applicant shall be noted
   33  on the registration certificate.
   34         (3)(2) All applications for such license plates must be
   35  made to the department.

   40  insert:
   41         amending s. 320.0843, F.S.; providing for a license
   42         plate that combines the Purple Heart license plate
   43         with the license plate for persons with disabilities;
   44         providing for issuance of such plate to qualified
   45         persons; requiring certain wording and symbols on the
   46         plate;
