(1) The Board of Medicine and the Board of 7 Osteopathic Medicine shall adopt rules to establish requirements 8 that ensure the safe and effective delivery of pediatric 9 surgical care in ambulatory surgical centers in accordance with 10 the American College of Surgeons’ evidence-based standards for 11 optimal pediatric care. The rules must establish minimum 12 standards for pediatric-specific patient care, including at 13 least the following: 14 (a) Surgical risk assessment. 15 (b) Anesthesiology. 16 (c) Resuscitation. 17 (d) Transfer agreements. 18 (e) Training and certification of pediatric health care 19 providers. 20 (2) An ambulatory surgical center may not perform an 21 operative procedure on an infant or a child younger than 18 22 years of age which requires that the infant or child remain in 23 the facility past midnight on the day of the procedure until 24 such rules have been adopted. 25 26 ================= T I T L E A M E N D M E N T ================ 27 And the title is amended as follows: 28 Delete line 765 29 and insert: 30 amount; defining a term; requiring the Board of 31 Medicine to adopt rules establishing requirements that 32 ensure the safe and effective delivery of pediatric 33 surgical care in ambulatory surgical centers; 34 requiring that the rules address specific aspects of 35 care; prohibiting ambulatory surgical centers from 36 performing certain operative procedures until such 37 rules are adopted; creating s. 624.27, F.S.;
