       Senator Thompson moved the following:
       
    1         Senate Amendment (with title amendment)
    2  
    3         Delete lines 366 - 375
    4  and insert:
    5         (c) Upon the registration of 15,000 qualified patients in
    6  the compassionate use registry, approve five additional
    7  dispensing organizations that meet the requirements of
    8  subparagraphs (b)2.-7. The solicitation of applicants must occur
    9  within 30 days after the qualified patient totals are met, and
   10  the applicants must be given 15 calendar days to submit their
   11  applications to the department. The department shall score the
   12  bids and award the new licenses within 90 calendar days after
   13  the closing date. Any challenge to the department’s award is
   14  governed by s. 120.57(3). A license may not be awarded to any
   15  applicant that holds a current license or that is corporately
   16  affiliated with another applicant or licenseholder, or whose
   17  owner, investor, or related party is corporately affiliated with
   18  another applicant or license holder.

   23  and insert:
   24         organizations; requiring the department to approve
   25         five additional dispensing organizations under certain
   26         circumstances; providing requirements for the
   27         solicitation and selection of applicants for the
   28         additional dispensing organizations; specifying the
   29         provisions governing certain challenges to the
   30         department; prohibiting certain applicants from being
   31         awarded a license;
