       Senator Lee moved the following:
       
    1         Senate Amendment to House Amendment (635159) to Senate
    2  Amendment (with title amendment)
    3  
    4         Between lines 87 and 88
    5  insert:
    6         Section 6. Subsections (1) and (2) of section 1002.53,
    7  Florida Statutes, are amended to read:
    8         1002.53 Voluntary Prekindergarten Education Program;
    9  eligibility and enrollment.—
   10         (1) The Voluntary Prekindergarten Education Program is
   11  created and shall be organized, designed, and delivered in
   12  accordance with s. 1(b) and (c), Art. IX of the State
   13  Constitution.
   14         (2) Each child who resides in this state who will have
   15  attained the age of 4 years on or before September 1 of the
   16  school year is eligible for the Voluntary Prekindergarten
   17  Education Program during either that school year or the
   18  following school year. The child remains eligible until the
   19  beginning of the school year for which the child is eligible for
   20  admission to kindergarten in a public school under s.
   21  1003.21(1)(a)2. or until the child is admitted to kindergarten,
   22  or unless he or she will have attained the age of 6 years by
   23  February 1 of any school year under s. 1003.21(1)(a)1 whichever
   24  occurs first.
