The Committee on Education Pre-K - 12 (Sobel) recommended the
following:
1 Senate Amendment (with title amendment)

3 Delete lines 231 - 282
4 and insert:
5 (c) Disqualification from employment under this chapter may
6 not be removed from, nor may an exemption be granted to, any
7 current or prospective personnel of a provider receiving school
8 readiness funding under part VI of chapter 1002, if such person
9 is registered as a sex offender as described in 42 U.S.C. s.
10 9858f(c)(1)(C) or has been convicted of crimes referenced in 42
11 U.S.C. s. 9858f. Such persons are disqualified from employment
12 with a school readiness provider regardless of any prior
13 exemptions from disqualification. Any person employed by a
14 school readiness provider on July 1, 2016, who has been granted
15 an exemption from disqualification must be rescreened no later
16 than August 1, 2016.
