Appropriations Subcommittee on Education (Stargel) recommended
the following:
1 Senate Amendment (with title amendment)

3 Delete lines 135 - 145
4 and insert:
5 institution. Any course or program limitations may not exceed
6 the limitations for other dually enrolled students within a
7 district.
8 2. The initial and continued eligibility requirements for
9 home education student participation, not to exceed those
10 required of other dual enrollment dually enrolled students. A
11 high school grade point average may not be required for home
12 education students who meet the minimum score on a common
13 placement test adopted by the State Board of Education which
14 indicates that the student is ready for college-level
15 coursework; however, home education student eligibility
16 requirements for continued enrollment in college credit dual
17 enrollment courses must include the maintenance of the minimum
18 postsecondary grade point average established by the
19 postsecondary institution.
20 3. A provision expressing whether the postsecondary
21 institution or the student is responsible The student’s
22 responsibilities for providing his or her own instructional
23 materials and transportation.
24 4. A copy of the statement on transfer guarantees developed
25 by the Department of Education under subsection (15).
26 (16) A public school, a private school, or a home education

32 insert:
33 prohibiting dual enrollment course and program
34 limitations for home education students from exceeding
35 limitations for other students; providing an exemption
36 from the grade point average requirement for initial
37 enrollment in a dual enrollment program for certain
38 home education students;
