       The Committee on Health Policy (Grimsley) recommended the
       following:
       
    1         Senate Amendment (with title amendment)

    3         Before line 21
    4  insert:
    5         Section 1. Paragraph (g) of subsection (4) of section
    6  458.347, Florida Statutes, is amended to read:
    7         458.347 Physician assistants.—
    8         (4) PERFORMANCE OF PHYSICIAN ASSISTANTS.—
    9         (g) A supervisory physician may delegate to a licensed
   10  physician assistant the authority to order medications for the
   11  supervisory physician’s patient during his or her care in a
   12  facility licensed under chapter 395 or chapter 400,
   13  notwithstanding any provisions in chapter 465 or chapter 893
   14  which may prohibit this delegation. For the purpose of this
   15  paragraph, an order is not considered a prescription. A licensed
   16  physician assistant working in a facility that is licensed under
   17  chapter 395 or chapter 400 may order any medication under the
   18  direction of the supervisory physician.
