    1                        A bill to be entitled                      
    2         An act relating to the Office of Program Policy
    3         Analysis and Government Accountability; requiring the
    4         Office of Program Policy Analysis and Government
    5         Accountability to conduct a study of the district cost
    6         differential for each school district and to provide
    7         recommendations; providing requirements for the
    8         recommendations; requiring a report to the Legislature
    9         by a specified date; providing an effective date.

   11  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:
   12  
   13         Section 1. The Office of Program Policy Analysis and
   14  Government Accountability (OPPAGA) shall conduct a study of the
   15  district cost differential calculated by the Commissioner of
   16  Education for each school district and shall provide
   17  recommendations on whether the district cost differential should
   18  be eliminated, what should be included in the district cost
   19  differential formula, what the appropriate formula should be,
   20  and how allocations should be distributed among the school
   21  districts. OPPAGA shall submit a report with its findings and
   22  recommendations to the President of the Senate and the Speaker
   23  of the House of Representatives by January 1, 2018.
   24         Section 2. This act shall take effect July 1, 2017.
