Senator Hutson moved the following:
1 Senate Amendment to House Amendment (547997) (with title
2 amendment)

4 Between lines 20 and 21
5 insert:
6 Section 2. Section 97.029, Florida Statutes, is created to
7 read:
8 97.029 Challenges to state legislative or congressional
9 districts.—
10 (1) If an active challenge to the validity of boundaries of
11 senatorial, representative, or congressional districts of the
12 state is still pending in court when the qualifying period
13 begins pursuant to s. 99.061, candidate qualifying, nomination,
14 and election for the offices in the apportionment plan subject
15 to the challenge must proceed using the districts that are in
16 place on the 71st day before the primary election. If a court
17 orders revisions to senatorial, representative, or congressional
18 districts on or after the 71st day before the primary election,
19 the revised districts shall govern beginning with the subsequent
20 primary and general elections in the next even-numbered year.
21 (2) This section does not supersede or impair the
22 procedures governing the judicial review of apportionment as set
23 forth in s. 16, Art. III of the State Constitution.

28 and insert:
29 Florida Election Code; creating s. 97.029, F.S.;
30 providing that candidate qualifying, nomination, and
31 election for state legislative and congressional
32 offices must proceed using current district boundaries
33 if revisions to districts subject to an active court
34 challenge are not ordered by a certain date; providing
35 for construction; amending s. 99.061, F.S.;
