Florida Senate - 2017 (NP) CS for SB 472 By the Committee on Regulated Industries; and Senator Grimsley 580-02980-17 2017472c1 1 A bill to be entitled 2 An act relating to Charlotte County; providing space 3 and seating requirements for the issuance of special 4 alcoholic beverage licenses to event centers; 5 providing an exception to general law; providing an 6 effective date. 7 8 Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida: 9 10 Section 1. Notwithstanding s. 561.20, Florida Statutes, the 11 Division of Alcoholic Beverages and Tobacco of the Department of 12 Business and Professional Regulation may issue special alcoholic 13 beverage licenses to event centers in Charlotte County which 14 have a seating capacity of no more than 800 seats, overall floor 15 space of no more than 10,000 square feet, and derive no less 16 than 51 percent of annual gross income from the sale of event 17 center tickets and food and nonalcoholic beverages that are 18 prepared, served, and consumed on such premises. For the 19 purposes of this act, the term “event center” means a facility 20 that routinely hosts events for which entrance is granted to 21 customers who have purchased tickets, including, but not limited 22 to, musical concerts and art shows; hosts events sponsored or 23 organized by nonprofit organizations; and which otherwise does 24 not market itself primarily as a food service establishment. The 25 Division of Alcoholic Beverages and Tobacco of the Department of 26 Business and Professional Regulation may revoke or suspend any 27 such license for violations of the Beverage Law and regulations 28 of this state not inconsistent with this act. 29 Section 2. This act shall take effect upon becoming a law.
