       The Committee on Environmental Preservation and Conservation
       (Bean) recommended the following:
       
    1         Senate Amendment (with title amendment)
    2  
    3         Delete everything after the enacting clause
    4  and insert:
    5         Section 1. Section 258.0142, Florida Statutes, is created
    6  to read:
    7         258.0142 Foster and adoptive family state park fee
    8  discounts.-
    9         (1) To promote awareness of the contributions made by
   10  foster families and adoptive families to the vitality of the
   11  state, the Division of Recreation and Parks shall provide the
   12  following discounts on state park fees to persons who present
   13  written documentation satisfactory to the division which
   14  evidences their eligibility for the discounts:
   15         (a) Families operating a licensed family foster home under
   16  s. 409.175 shall receive family annual entrance passes at no
   17  charge and a 50 percent discount on current base campsite fees
   18  at state parks.
   19         (b) Families who adopt a special needs child as described
   20  in s. 409.166(2)(a)2. from the Department of Children and
   21  Families shall receive a one-time family annual entrance pass at
   22  no charge at the time of the adoption.
   23         (2) The division, in consultation with the Department of
   24  Children and Families, shall identify the types of documentation
   25  sufficient to establish eligibility for the discounts under this
   26  section and establish a procedure for obtaining these discounts.
   27         (3) The division shall continue its partnership with the
   28  Department of Children and Families to promote fostering and
   29  adoption of special needs children with events held each year
   30  during National Foster Care Month and National Adoption Month.

   37         An act relating to state park fees; creating s.
   38         258.0142, F.S.; providing certain discounts on state
   39         park fees to specified foster and adoptive families;
   40         requiring the Division of Recreation and Parks within
   41         the Department of Environmental Protection to
   42         establish certain documentation standards and create a
   43         procedure for obtaining the discounts; requiring the
   44         division to continue a partnership with the Department
   45         of Children and Families to promote fostering and
   46         adoption of special needs children with certain
   47         events; providing an effective date.
