The Committee on Health Policy (Steube) recommended the
following:
1 Senate Amendment (with title amendment)

3 Delete everything after the enacting clause
4 and insert:
5 Section 1. Paragraph (b) of subsection (7) of section
6 458.347, Florida Statutes, is amended to read:
7 458.347 Physician assistants.—
8 (7) PHYSICIAN ASSISTANT LICENSURE.—
9 (b)1. The license must be renewed biennially. Each renewal
10 must include:
11 a.1. A renewal fee not to exceed $500 as set by the boards.
12 b.2. Acknowledgment of no felony convictions in the
13 previous 2 years.
14 c. A completed physician assistant workforce survey, which
15 shall be administered in the same manner as the physician survey
16 established in s. 458.3191 and must contain the same information
17 required in s. 458.3191(1) and (2).
18 2. Beginning July 1, 2018, and every 2 years thereafter,
19 the department shall report the data collected from the
20 physician assistant workforce surveys to the boards.
21 3. The department shall adopt rules to implement this
22 paragraph.

48 An act relating to physician assistants; amending ss.
49 458.347 and 459.022, F.S.; requiring that a physician
50 assistant license renewal include the submission of a
51 physician assistant workforce survey; requiring the
52 Department of Health to report the data collected from
53 such surveys to the boards; providing rulemaking
54 authority; providing an effective date.
