Section 1008.222, Florida Statutes, is created 7 to read: 8 1008.222 Student assessments for students of articulated 9 acceleration mechanisms.— 10 (1) Notwithstanding any other provision of law, a student 11 who takes and passes an advanced placement, International 12 Baccalaureate, Advanced International Certificate of Education, 13 or national industry certification examination; takes and passes 14 any other articulated acceleration mechanism authorized under s. 15 1007.27; or achieves the required concordant scores on the ACT 16 or SAT examinations pursuant to s. 1008.22(8), is exempt from 17 taking the statewide, standardized assessments in the subject 18 areas covered by those examinations. 19 (2) By the first day of the 2017-2018 school year, the 20 Commissioner of Education shall identify concordant scores or 21 comparative scores, as appropriate, so that those scores satisfy 22 the high school graduation requirements under s. 1003.4282 for 23 an examination or assessment identified in subsection (1). 24 (3) The scores of students who pass the examinations or 25 assessments identified in subsection (1) shall be incorporated 26 into the school grade calculations under s. 1008.34. 27 28 ================= T I T L E A M E N D M E N T ================ 29 And the title is amended as follows: 30 Delete line 63 31 and insert: 32 a specified date; creating s. 1008.222, F.S.; 33 exempting students in certain articulated acceleration 34 mechanisms from taking certain statewide, standardized 35 assessments; requiring the commissioner to establish 36 certain concordant or comparative scores; providing 37 that certain scores are included in school grade 38 calculations; amending s. 1008.22,
