    1                        A bill to be entitled                      
    2         An act relating to the state agency law enforcement
    3         radio system; amending s. 282.709, F.S.; adding to the
    4         Joint Task Force on State Agency Law Enforcement
    5         Communications a representative of the Florida
    6         Sheriffs Association, to be appointed by the president
    7         of the association; providing an effective date.
    8          
    9  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:
   10  
   11         Section 1. Paragraph (a) of subsection (2) of section
   12  282.709, Florida Statutes, is amended to read:
   13         282.709 State agency law enforcement radio system and
   14  interoperability network.—
   15         (2) The Joint Task Force on State Agency Law Enforcement
   16  Communications is created adjunct to the department to advise
   17  the department of member-agency needs relating to the planning,
   18  designing, and establishment of the statewide communication
   19  system.
   20         (a) The Joint Task Force on State Agency Law Enforcement
   21  Communications shall consist of the following members:
   22         1. A representative of the Division of Alcoholic Beverages
   23  and Tobacco of the Department of Business and Professional
   24  Regulation who shall be appointed by the secretary of the
   25  department.
   26         2. A representative of the Division of Florida Highway
   27  Patrol of the Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles
   28  who shall be appointed by the executive director of the
   29  department.
   30         3. A representative of the Department of Law Enforcement
   31  who shall be appointed by the executive director of the
   32  department.
   33         4. A representative of the Fish and Wildlife Conservation
   34  Commission who shall be appointed by the executive director of
   35  the commission.
   36         5. A representative of the Department of Corrections who
   37  shall be appointed by the secretary of the department.
   38         6. A representative of the Department of Financial Services
   39  who shall be appointed by the Chief Financial Officer.
   40         7. A representative of the Department of Agriculture and
   41  Consumer Services who shall be appointed by the Commissioner of
   42  Agriculture.
   43         8. A representative of the Florida Sheriffs Association who
   44  shall be appointed by the president of the association.
   45         Section 2. This act shall take effect July 1, 2018.
