Floor: 1/AD/2R . 03/08/2018 03:27 PM . ————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————— ————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————— Senator Rader moved the following: 1 Senate Amendment (with title amendment) 2 3 Delete lines 23 - 71 4 and insert: 5 airboat to carry one or more passengers for hire on waters of 6 the state unless he or she has all of the following onboard the 7 airboat: 8 1. A photographic identification card. 9 2. Proof of completion of a boater education course that 10 complies with s. 327.395(1)(a). Except as provided in paragraph 11 (b), no operator is exempt from this requirement, regardless of 12 age or the exemptions provided under s. 327.395. 13 3. Proof of successful completion of a commission-approved 14 airboat operator course that meets the minimum standards 15 established by commission rule. 16 4. Proof of successful course completion in cardiopulmonary 17 resuscitation and first aid. 18 (b) A person issued a captain’s license by the United 19 States Coast Guard is not required to complete a boating safety 20 education course that complies with s. 327.395(1)(a). Proof of 21 the captain’s license must be onboard the airboat when carrying 22 one or more passengers for hire on waters of the state. 23 (c) A person who violates this subsection commits a 24 misdemeanor of the second degree, punishable as provided in s. 25 775.082 or s. 775.083. 26 (d) The commission shall adopt rules to implement this 27 subsection no later than October 1, 2018. 28 29 ================= T I T L E A M E N D M E N T ================ 30 And the title is amended as follows: 31 Delete lines 3 - 14 32 and insert: 33 short title; amending s. 327.391, F.S.; requiring a 34 commercial airboat operator to have specified 35 documents onboard the airboat while carrying 36 passengers for hire; providing an exception; providing 37 a penalty; directing the Fish and Wildlife 38 Conservation Commission to adopt rules by a specified 39 date; providing an effective date.
