    1                          Senate Resolution                        
    2         A resolution recognizing the City of Aventura on the
    3         occasion of the 23rd anniversary of its incorporation.
    4  
    5         WHEREAS, in 1995, the City of Aventura became a new city
    6  under its own government in Miami-Dade County, and
    7         WHEREAS, the City of Aventura is home to the luxury resort
    8  Turnberry Isle and to the Aventura Mall, one of the largest
    9  indoor retail emporiums in the United States, and
   10         WHEREAS, the City of Aventura Police Department has grown
   11  to include 37 civilian and 83 sworn personnel and has earned an
   12  outstanding reputation as a key component in making Aventura a
   13  “City of Excellence” for citizens and visitors alike, and
   14         WHEREAS, the City of Aventura is led by Mayor Enid Weisman,
   15  City Manager Eric M. Soroka and commissioners Linda Marks,
   16  Denise Landman, Howard Weinberg, Robert Shelley, Gladys Mezrahi,
   17  and Marc Narotsky, NOW, THEREFORE,

   19  Be It Resolved by the Senate of the State of Florida:

   21         That the City of Aventura is recognized on the occasion of
   22  the 23rd anniversary of its incorporation.
