       The Committee on Appropriations (Steube) recommended the
       following:
       
    1         Senate Amendment (with title amendment)
    2  
    3         Delete lines 25 - 37
    4  and insert:
    5  punishment; exemption from liability.—
    6         (1)A Any person who makes a threat in a writing or other
    7  record, including an electronic record, writes or composes and
    8  also sends or procures the sending of any letter, inscribed
    9  communication, or electronic communication, whether such letter
   10  or communication be signed or anonymous, to any person,
   11  containing a threat to kill or to do great bodily injury to
   12  another the person and posts or transmits the threat in any
   13  manner that would allow another person to view the threat to
   14  whom such letter or communication is sent, or a threat to kill
   15  or do bodily injury to any member of the family of the person to
   16  whom such letter or communication is sent commits a felony of
   17  the third second degree, punishable as provided in s. 775.082,
   18  s. 775.083, or s. 775.084.
   19         (2) This section does not impose liability on a provider of
   20  an interactive computer service, communications services as
   21  defined in s. 202.11, a commercial mobile service, or an
   22  information service, including, but not limited to, an Internet
   23  service provider or a hosting service provider, if it provides
   24  the transmission, storage, or caching of electronic
   25  communications or messages of others or provides another related
   26  telecommunications, commercial mobile radio service, or
   27  information service for use by another person who violates this
   28  section. This exemption from liability is consistent with and in
   29  addition to any liability exemption provided under 47 U.S.C. s.

   34         Delete line 9
   35  and insert:
   36         prohibited; revising a criminal penalty; exempting
   37         certain providers of services from liability; amending
   38         s.
