       Senator Montford moved the following:
       
    1         Senate Amendment 
    2  
    3         Delete lines 1521 - 1527
    4  and insert:
    5  and school safety officers.–The purpose of this section is to
    6  provide for the protection and safety of students, school
    7  personnel, visitors and of property through the provision of one
    8  or more school resource officers or school safety officers at
    9  each school facility within the district, to the extent funds
   10  are available in the safe schools allocation established
   11  pursuant to s. 1011.62 to fund such officers authorized in
   12  subsections (1) and (2). Funds appropriated for the Florida
   13  Sheriff’s Marshal Program authorized in s. 1006.1491 may be used
   14  to fund school resource officers or school safety officers
   15  authorized in subsection (1) and (2). District school boards
