Senator Passidomo moved the following:
1 Senate Amendment to Amendment (831300) (with title

5 insert:
6 Section 52. For the 2017-2018 school year, students
7 enrolled in Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School are exempt from
8 taking the statewide standardized assessments administered
9 pursuant to s. 1008.22, Florida Statutes, and the use of
10 assessment results for course grades pursuant to s. 1003.4282,
11 Florida Statutes; however, the school shall administer industry
12 certification assessments, national assessments, and statewide
13 standardized assessments for any student who chooses to take the
14 assessment. Students who are in the 2017-2018 graduating class
15 are exempt from the minimum hours of instruction requirement of
16 s. 1003.436, Florida Statutes, and from being required to use
17 certain assessments to earn a standard high school diploma
18 pursuant to s. 1003.4282, Florida Statutes, and to earn standard
19 high school diploma designations pursuant to 1003.4285, Florida
20 Statutes. Notwithstanding s. 1008.34, Florida Statutes, the
21 school grade of “A” earned by Marjory Stoneman Douglas High
22 School for the 2016-2017 school year shall be used for the 2017
23 2018 school year to maintain eligibility for designation as a
24 School of Excellence pursuant to s. 1003.631, Florida Statutes,
25 and award of school recognition pursuant to s. 1008.36, Florida
26 Statutes.

30 Delete line 5270
31 and insert:
32 purposes; specifying that certain students are exempt
33 from specified required assessments, grades, and
34 graduation requirements for the 2017-2018 school year;
35 specifying that the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High
36 School shall maintain specified grades and
37 designations for the 2017-2018 school year; providing
38 an effective date.
