       Appropriations Subcommittee on Health and Human Services
       (Gibson) recommended the following:
       
    1         Senate Amendment (with title amendment)
    2  
    3         Delete lines 26 - 32
    4  and insert:
    5         (3) The department may not establish a minimum amount or a
    6  maximum amount for grants and shall determine the amount of each
    7  award based on the merits of the application. The department
    8  shall ensure that grants are awarded to applicants in various
    9  regions of the state. In addition to the grants awarded under
   10  subsections (1) and (2), up to 20 percent of the funding for the
   11  Reducing Racial and Ethnic Health Disparities: Closing the Gap
   12  grant program shall be dedicated to projects that address
   13  improving racial and ethnic health status within specific Front
   14  Porch Florida Communities.
   15         (4) Nothing in ss. 381.7351-381.7356 shall prevent a

   18  And the title is amended as follows:
   19         Delete line 3
   20  and insert:
   21         amending s. 381.7354, F.S.; prohibiting the Department
   22         of Health from establishing a minimum amount or a
   23         maximum amount for Closing the Gap grants; requiring
   24         that the amount of each award be based on the merit of
   25         each application and that grants be awarded to
   26         applicants in various regions of the state; removing
   27         provisions
